December???

I cannot believe it's December, this year just flew by. I guess what they say is true the older you get the faster time seems to pass. I have a few projects that I am working on right now along with the normal holiday stuff and working and being a wife and a mom, I think we all know that is why time seems to be passing at a faster pace, because we actually have less of it then we did without all of those responsibilities, lol. I wouldn't trade it for the world though because all in all I feel very blessed. There will always be mountains to climb and hurdles to jump, but I am here and have decided to embrace it all and do the best I can.
One of the projects I am starting to think about is my 2010 word. I have really liked having a word to focus on and remember when I need that little nudge. I haven't picked one yet but have narrowed it down to about ten. Who else is doing this for 2010, have you already figured out your word???
I am also working on finishing up Christmas projects, I have decided that this year most of the gifts are going to be handmade. With the economy the way it is, I just felt like this would be a great way to accomplish the Christmas gift lists. Let's hope that the people receiving them will appreciate the sentiment.
We have also put our house up for sale, we are hoping to be able to move closer to work and Bre's school. Which by the way she is absolutely loving, lol. I am very relieved that it went that way with her instead of the other. The Villages High School is amazing and offers so many opportunities for her and it makes life so much easier that she actually likes going to school!
I guess maybe you can understand why blogging has taken a back seat as of late, hopefully 2010 will reveal itself to be a bit of a calmer year...we will see!

Thankful...

So thankful for these kiddos! We spent Thanksgiving day with Kenny's side of the family and I was lucky enough to shoot this picture of Bre and her cousins. I think this is one of my favorite of them ever! I love these kids so much and am so thankful for each one of them. They are all good kids and I am very proud of them.
From Kenny's parents house we went to my sister and brother in laws to share the rest of Thanksgiving with my side of the family. Had a great time there as well...love that we got to spend time with both sides of the family...something to be very thankful for.
Highlights from the Holiday weekend.
1. Great time with family.
2. Yummy food that we only get to eat once or twice a year.
3. My mom and I decided to brave black Friday and see what deals we could find.
4. Found one very important deal for some one's Christmas...woo hoo.
5. Took Bob's Porsche for a spin...first time ever driving a Porsche and it was a lot more fun than I thought it would be!
6. Got to spend time with my Mom and sister.
7. Didn't have to work today for the first time in 12 years!!!
8. Looking forward to a nice lazy day at home tomorrow.
9. Christmas tree goes up this weekend.
10. Started my Christmas shopping. I had plans on trying to be done by December 1, however that is not going to happen. I am happy with what I have accomplished though and should be done at least two weeks prior to the day, so all in all, pretty happy with that. I hope to get my Christmas cards mailed out by the weekend...lets just say I have great intentions but making it to the post office seems to be a near impossible feat for me, wish me luck!

Hope all of my blog friends enjoyed their Thanksgiving and found lots to be thankful for.

A wow weekend...

Where do I start? Inspiration filled not just creatively but emotionally...not only does Heidi teach some fabulous classes but the messages she shares just blew me away. Such food for the soul...the energy journal was the second class I got to sit in on and it was just what I needed to hear. I am going to use this little journal daily and keep it close to my heart so I do not forget what I learned. The House of 3 Heart Shadow box was so fun, I love that I can hang it in my home and look at it daily. It involved alcohol ink, distress ink, distress stickles, distress embossing powder...total heaven! I cannot wait for Heidi to come back and spend some more time! I still am processing the weekend and loving what this gave to not only me but everyone that came and experienced what a truly amazing teacher and person Heidi is.

Excited...

Four days and counting...Heidi Swapp will be at She Scrapbooks for a fun-filled weekend of classes!!! Can't wait!!! I think I am even going to get to take a couple of her classes myself!!! Lovin that...I don't know which one I am more excited over the House of 3 heart box or the Energy Journal. I am thrilled about both. I have been wanting to do the Energy Journal since the first time I read about it online, I have high hopes of it helping me harness my personal energy and focus better, from the reviews I have heard just taking the class has made a difference in the way you look at things. Then there is that adorable heat shadow box. I think I will get a couple extra and some family members will be getting these little beauties as Christmas gifts this year. And if all this is not enough excitement there is next week...
NEW MOON is coming out...we have been counting down the days since seeing Twilight and it is finally almost here. We have plans to go at least three times over the weekend!!! Friday the 20th and then on to Saturday and Sunday!
She Scrapbooks is doing great...love going to work! Bre is doing fantastic at The Villages High School! We have the house up for sale so we can move a little closer to work and school.
So all in all we are pretty good. I will be posting pictures from the coming weekends asap. Hopefully I will be posting a little more frequently...can't believe Thanksgiving is right around the corner! Hope you all have a great week!

busy...

No excuse for the blog slacking, just lots going on...
She Scrapbooks is opened and doing really well...we are so excited that we have finally made it to this point...I keep pinching myself because it is hard to believe "SHE" is open...
We had our grand opening on Saturday and it was a huge success...saw so many people in the last week I haven't seen in years and some I say at our soft opening, wink...really nice to reconnect with them!
Now we are working on our Heidi Swapp event...we are almost full...haven't even been taking sign- ups for a week...lots of excited women!!!
Working on some more surprises for "She"...stay tuned...more announcements you won't want to miss!!!
Bre is doing really good in high school...I am so proud of her and the young woman that she is...I feel totally blessed to be her mom and get to share her life...she is the best!!!
My mom, step-dad, sister and brother in law all came over this week and surprised me by walking into the store with no notice. I almost couldn't believe my eyes, because that just doesn't happen...So nice to see them and we even got to sneak out and have a little treat at Urban Flats:)...Thanks for coming over family, it meant the world to me!!!
Mother-in-law and father-in-law came over and spent the weekend at the Waterfront in...nice to spend some time with them too...Went to RJ Gators for dinner (dh's favorite) and Nan and Bre got to spend some quality time together shopping around Sumter Landing.
Roxie turned four and the tenth...can't believe she has been with us that long...seems like just yesterday she was so tiny I could hold her in the palm of my hand...but also feels like she has been with us forever.
I have to BFF's who are having Birthday's this month...Happy Birthday to Kristy and Stephanie...I know it is little early...but I wanted to get it out here.
Can't believe it is the middle of October...Bre is going to another Homecoming dance on Halloween...she is excited to see her friends from her old school.
Thanksgiving is right around the corner...and I fear Christmas...not quite ready to have the holidays upon us...whether I like it or not here it comes...I think I need to start some shopping...I would like to be done by December 1...maybe then I can relax and enjoy the month of December!
Think I babbled enough now...off to eat dinner with the family.

Homecoming...

I didn't share any pictures of Breanna's first homecoming dance so I wanted to at least get one on the blog. I still cannot believe she is in high school, but as much as I try not to admit it she is growing up. Here she is with Andrea and Rachel. They looked beautiful and said they had a great time and danced all night.

two posts-one day...

Just wanted to give a quick update on She Scrapbooks...
We are moving right along, all the construction issues will be wrapped up tomorrow.
Product has started to arrive.
Checking in and pricing said product.
Painting some more fixtures this weekend.
Getting the store ready to set next week.
Opening still set for first week on October.
Can't wait, we are so excited and ready for She to make her debut!

Bre is moving right along with her first year of High School.
It is Homecoming this week and she is very excited about this, can't wait to go the dance, and loves her new dress.
Progress reports come home Friday (hard to believe).
She is starting her community service this week or next with a reading program to help out the elementary kids who need a little extra attention. So proud of her for choosing this.

Other than that, life seems to be ticking by pretty fast right now. I can't believe we are getting into the holiday months. Halloween, Thanksgiving and ugh, Christmas are right around the corner. I am so hoping that I will be able to find a little Christmas love this year. Working in retail for the last 12 years has just sucked it out of me. We will see. Keeping fingers crossed.

Life is exciting right now and I absolutely love it.

words...

I found this on Lindsay's blog (love her blog by the way) and had to share it with you. I think these are some very powerful words and definitely gives something to think about.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others"
